Tackling mis- and disinformation

Summary

Disinformation Toolkit 2.0 builds on the InterAction’s disinformation toolkit from 2018 by looking more broadly at the many ways disinformation impacts the work of civil society organisations.

Why read

The toolkit analyses how disinformation impacts the work of civil society organisations and non-governmental organisations that are active in defense of human rights, humanitarian action, and across sectors of international development around the globe.

Description

The toolkit presents tools, examples, and recommendations for organisations and individuals targeted by disinformation or confronting its harmful impact in the context of their civil society, development, or humanitarian work around the globe.

It includes framing context to strategically understand and respond to disinformation in the aid sector (Part 1), followed by three sets of analyses, recommendations, and tools (Parts 2, 3, and 4). The annexes include further useful tools, initiatives as well as potential counter-disinformation partners (Annex 1) and policy considerations (Annex 2).
